They're Growing Up...

Wow. My boys are really growing up. It makes me sad. Liam is looking and acting less and less like a baby and more and more like a little boy. Liam has started putting his dirty clothes into the laundry basket. The first time he did this, it blew me away. Kris stripped him down for a bath. Liam stood up, picked up the dirty clothes, walked over to the hamper, and put the clothes in. Wow. So big! He also goes to get his own shoes from the shoe basket. Keep in mind, there are probably 25 pairs of shoes in this basket. He can pick his shoes out from everyone else's. Blows my mind. He is also really beginning to fight naps. At least a few times a week, he will refuse to nap (not good news for this momma). I went in the other day and he had stripped off his pants and thrown them over the side of his crib onto the floor. He did this not once, but twice.

Kale is really coming along in the communication department. I love having little conversations with him. We are actually beginning to be able to reason with him, which is a huge blessing. Kale is also starting to eat better--praise the Lord! He now has a total of 3 meals that he will eat with minimal fighting. This is big for us...really big!

So this little man--how can this next series of pictures not make you laugh? I took the boys to get haircuts on Friday afternoon. Liam had hair all over his shirt when we got home, so I took his shirt off. He proceeded to walk over and put Kale's "best big brother" medal on. I told Kris he looked like a little Olympic athlete.

And the fits have begun...I have always said that Liam is more laid back than Kale, but I recant. He is not. Both of my boys are so strong-willed, it's not even funny (wonder where they would get such traits?). The terrible two tantrums have begun, at 13 months, no less. And oh when Liam cries, he can really cry! It is so sad and he cries real tears. Every single time. It's impressive.

Both of my boys are such posers. Kale was modeling different poses on the stepping stool for the camera.

Oh and speaking of posing--Liam actually said, "Cheese" the other day when  I pulled out the camera. He knows exactly what to do when he sees that flash.

Today was a pretty nice day so we took advantage of it and hit the park. After, we enjoyed yummy ice-cream. Kale's favorite--Liam doesn't love it. Surprisingly, Liam is not much of a fan of sweets...just the opposite of Kale.

Going to the park with Kale is a little nerve-wracking. He is a monkey. For such a little guy, he is very adept at all things physical. We actually had his "parent-teacher" conference at school this week. He is doing well, no bad marks. His teachers shared the results of the Brigance test (which is a Kindergarten readiness exam). In the gross motor category, Kale was off the charts. The teacher mentioned he can do certain "physical" things, like climbing and riding a bike, that none of the other kids can do...and he is the youngest in his class. And that's why we had a broken arm before the age of two. He's adventurous!
