Officially a Toddler

Isn't this just the cutest picture you have ever seen in your life? I bought these adorable seersucker pants and suspenders for Liam at Crazy 8 this week. He is going to be stylin' this spring!

I guess I can say that Liam is officially a toddler. Although he is probably much more than that. Not only is he "toddling" around, but he is walking and running these days. He is beginning to talk so much too--just today, he said "thank you." (It was a little muddled, but I could tell that is what he was saying--the sitter heard it too!) He is also beginning to make animal sounds. He really likes the cow sound.

In addition to all of these things, I also took the bottle away from him this week. I know, I know, he is already 14 months old. I should have done it sooner. But I didn't, for a couple of reasons. First of all, he loved his bottle. I mean really, really loved it. Kale gave his bottle up before he was 1...just stopped taking it and would only take the sippy. Not Liam, every time he saw a bottle, he would start reaching for it and crying if we didn't give it him fast enough. I thought, "well, if he loves something so much. Who am I to take it away from him." So, I decided to let him keep the bottle a bit longer. But that's not the real reason I let him keep his bottle for so long...giving up the bottle means a child is definitely not a baby anymore. It makes me so sad to think Liam's "baby days" are behind him. I mean, where on earth did the time go? Luckily, when I am putting him to bed, he will still let him rock him for a few minutes, but I know within the next few months, he won't even want that. It reminds me of a poem I read once:
Oh, so true.
