The boys were so excited to celebrate Father's Day with Kris. We started out shopping and making cards about a week ahead of time. Kale told Kris what he was getting a few times during the week before Father's Day. He doesn't really understand the concept of "secret" yet.
This photo is not turned the right way, but I love it none the less. For one of Kris' gifts, we bought a binder and filled it with sleeves. I hunted for the old Father's Day cards the boys had given Kris and put those in there, then I added a survey from this year, along with handmade cards from the boys. Kris can add cards to the binder each Father's Day and the sleeves will protect the cards from getting damaged.
I loved some of the boys answers on the survey. I asked Kale what his favorite thing about dad was. His answer, " I like it when he bites me." (In other words, he really likes to wrestle). Liam's answers were interesting too. When I asked Liam how old Kris was, he said, "35." Spot on!
For brunch, we went to a restaurant called The Boathouse. It's right on the James River and has great food.
After brunch, we walked along the dock. The boys loved it, but were not as cautious as we would have liked. I definitely had visions of one of them falling in the water. (And the water is FAR from clean.)
On the way home, Liam was mad because he wasn't ready to go to home yet. He gave me this look the whole way home. It's too funny that he is learning to glare already.
After naps (for all of the boys), the little boys played in the sprinkler in the backyard. They played very nicely outside together for well over 30 minutes. That's a record for no fussing and fighting with each other. All in all, a good Father's Day!
We love you, dad! Thanks for taking such good care of us all. We are immensely blessed to be your wife and children.
