We converted Liam's bed to a big boy bed. He was very excited and went to sleep with no problems.
He did manage to fall out of bed a few times. He didn't like that much. He cried and screamed, "I fell, I fell!" If he continues to do well, we will fully convert his bed to a full bed this weekend. I think he is less likely to fall out that way.
