First Day of Pre-School

So, our first day of pre-k this year turned out to be very exciting! I woke up at about 4 am with contractions that got more intense and closer together. We decided we had to head to the hospital when they were about 3 minutes apart. I was a complete and total MESS about missing the boys' first day of pre-school. I was so upset! I resisted it and attempted not to go to the hospital, but I finally realized I didn't want to have the baby in the car, so I needed to go. Luckily my sweet friend Lindsey (who has 2 kiddos of her own--one being 3 months old), took the boys to school for me. So, this family picture is taken in front of her house. My face is red from crying and I am pretty sure this picture was taken in the middle of a contractions.

The boys were SO excited to go to school. We had open house the previous Friday and they both got to meet their teachers and play in their classrooms. Liam cried because he didn't want to leave school on Friday. He talked incessantly about the pink purse at school that he wanted to play with. Christmas present idea? :)

I LOVE this picture of the boys...you can see the excitement on their little faces!

Lindsey took these pictures of the boys. They had a great first day! No tears and Liam asked if he "could go back there."

So Monday was a very LONG day and we obviously have no baby. The contractions continued but did not cause dilation. My doctor considered doing the C-section Monday, but decided not to because Karson is measuring small. I know, I know, this is weird for me, since my babies are usually SO large. Karson is 5 lb. 12 oz at 36 weeks. Liam was delivered at 37 weeks and was 8 lb. 5 oz. I guess Karson will be my petite one. They gave me medicine to stop the contractions. I have felt pretty well the past couple of days. I have had a few contractions here and there, but nothing too regular. Hopefully, Karson will stay in for a few more weeks!

Labor Day Weekend

We had a really fun Labor Day weekend. On Friday, we hit the pool for some fun before it closes for the season on Monday. Then, Kris and I enjoyed a "date night" at home to celebrate his recent job promotion.

On Saturday, we headed the drive-in movie theater. It was our first time to go, but I think it's something we will definitely do again. They had volleyball, tetherball, and a playground for the kids. Not to mention, entertainment before the show. We pigged out and the boys enjoyed popcorn for dinner! (Not such a great picture since they are both chowing down.) Then, we watched How to Train your Dragon 2. They show 2 other movies after the first showing, but we left because it was already 10:00 p.m. Way past the boys' bedtime!

The next day, we headed to the beach for a day trip. Kale had been begging to go to the beach all summer and we hadn't been yet....he hated it! He begged to go home the entire time. He did NOT like the sand all over him. Not to mention, I think he was tired from being up so late the night before.

Kris did elicit them in a little fun by tossing water at them and building sand castles. There were quite a few jellyfish around, so I was a little afraid to get in the water.

We had an ice-cream and walked the pier, then headed home around 3 p.m.

We had to get a picture to capture the moment...our Tahoe, which we have had for probably 6-7 years (and still runs great), rolled over 100,000 miles on the beach trip. Hopefully it can make it for a few more miles! :)

More Baby Pics...

Baby Karson will be here soon! And the fact that even my maternity clothes don't fit too well is proof! Kris sent me on a spa day last Saturday for a massage, pedicure, and haircut. It was heavenly!

I am also happy to announce that Kris has accepted a new job and promotion! His last day with Alstom was Friday. He starts on Tuesday with a new company called Ogin Wind. He is the Director of Logistics. The company is based in Boston, so he will be there receiving training for the next two weeks (Pray the baby doesn't decide to make a surprise appearance). Then, he will be home for a few weeks, waiting for baby and helping us get things settled. Once Karson arrives, Kris will travel to Boston every other week for at least 3 days a week. I am not looking forward to him traveling so much, but I am proud of him for taking the next step in his career!

This little dude gives me quite the fun for my money! His personality is magnetic and he is so goofy, but he is also so hard-headed at times! We have really had to work on enforcing the rules with him lately. School starts next Monday, so it will be interesting to see how he does...

I think he looks a bit like his momma here! What do you think?

I am lucky that both of my boys are so loving. They still enjoy cuddles, hand holding, and kisses. I am dreading the day when that's "not cool" anymore.
